Learn how to teach dance
It is time for you to move on. Training to become a dance teacher will give you the confidence you need to take the next step. This course is ideal for you if you want to teach dance part time or if you don't think you could commit the to the time needed to complete a full time teachers course. It will give a basic introduction to a range of dance styles and a strong foundation to teach your dance class.
The Programme
This teacher training pro gramme is scheduled to run on a Saturday morning from approximately 9am- 4pm every week for a period of ten weeks. As a supplement to prior dance knowledge all students will take classes in Hip hop, choreography, ballet or contemporary and classes specifically designed to develop your teaching skills. The programme is entirely practical although a written journal is required to log experiences during choreography assignments

Who can take the course?
The course is aimed at anybody who has a strong foundation in a specalist dance subject and would like to learn to teach. This is an intensive programme and as such potential applicants should be advised of the level of commitment required. In addition to attending lessons scheduled on the course students should make allowance for the following:
Rehearsal time for choreography assignments
A commitment to working with other students to complete choreography assignments
Time preparation for teaching assignments

How is the course assessed?
A minimum of eighty percent attendance is required to complete the course successfully. In addition participants will be required to teach a dance lesson for final assessment.
